Oodenawi student volunteers – make sure all 1100 students have access to healthy food in their classrooms!

We know that students arrive at school hungry for a variety of reasons.

We know that hungry students lose up to 132 minutes of learning time per day.

We believe that when given access to healthy food at school students have their best chance at success, both personally and academically.

Oodenawi Public School student volunteers are working together to make sure no student at their school goes hungry at school!

Now that is one amazing feat when your schools has over 1000 students … and they have been doing it for over 3 years via their classroom bin program.

“Our 2 Life Skills classes work hard every week to collect, clean, fill and deliver bins to 52 classes! The kids all have their own job and are so proud of their work helping their school community. Through the program the students have learned about nutrition and community service”.
