Students are back in school…. and so are HFFT Student Nutrition Programs! We couldn’t be happier!
As an organization Halton Food for Thought is committed to ensuring our programs remain safe and universally accessible.
More than ever, Halton students need access to nutritious food to fuel a full day of learning. We are in this together!
In response to current COVID guidelines, and to ensure the safety of students, staff and volunteers, HFFT and our partner schools have developed the Healthy Food Bin Program.
Healthy Food Bins are located in classrooms and / or key areas around the school to promote student access, appropriate physical distancing, minimized congregation and ensure safe controlled distribution.
The bins are filled with a variety of nutritious, pre-packaged, non-perishable food items that meet or exceed MCCSS Nutrition Guidelines. A minimum of 2 food groups is required one always being a fresh hard fruit or fruit cup.
Students are hungry for many different reasons. Snacks provided in the Healthy Food Bins are intended for ANY student that may need additional food to sustain them through a busy school day.
When we feed kids at school, we are offering them their best chance for success.
We want kids to reach their full potential and lead healthy, active lives.
