Rattlesnake Point hosts first FEEDUARY visit of 2025

It was a morning filled with excitement as we kicked off Feeduary at Rattlesnake Point PS today in Milton. The school welcomed guests including Milton MP Adam van Koeverden, Milton Councilor Sameera Ali, and HDSB Superintendent of Education Jennifer Fowler to join in preparing the snack bins for the school. This school engages its youngest students in preparing the bins, taking the opportunity to help them master their counting skills by filling each bin with a specific number of each item.

Guests were able to help assist these students and see this creative way Kindergarten teacher Monique Sabourin has been able to engage her students in this program. Through engaging the kindergarten students, it instills at a young age creating a supportive community within the school by helping to provide access to nutritious food to their fellow students.

“Rattlesnake Point PS joined the Halton Food for Thought family in 2023 and has done an excellent job engaging students and staff to connect students with nutritious food.” said Maureen McLaughlin, Community Development Manager for North Halton.  “FEEDUARY provides us an opportunity to shine a light on the importance of our programs and help people see the unique ways schools can engage their students through Student Nutrition Programs. It goes beyond healthy food to also creating community and leadership opportunities within the school.”

Thank you to Rattlesnake Point PS for hosting our first visit in FEEDUARY and welcoming the community into your school to help us shine a light on Student Nutrition Programs. To learn more about Halton Food for Thought visit About Us
