Halton Food for Thought: feeding Halton students Since 2007!
Halton Food for Thought is part of a larger group of organizations providing access to healthy and nutritious meals and snacks for Ontario students at school. We are grateful for our community partners in the area of student nutrition including Student Nutrition Ontario who oversee this in the Province of Ontario.
Our organization has been entrusted with overseeing Student Nutrition Programs in Halton by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services as the sole provider of these programs across the region. In partnership with the four publicly funded school boards in Halton Region, we are working towards running Student Nutrition Programs in all of their schools to be able to offer our programs to the over 100,000 students in the region.

Our Student Nutrition Programs provide free, healthy meals and snacks to all elementary and secondary students in participating publicly funded Halton schools.
Students arrive at school hungry for many reasons. We ensure they have the fuel they need to concentrate, boost their energy, and fully engage in their school day.
To remain universal and non-stigmatizing, our programs are free and open to every student.
Our menus follow provincial Nutrition Guidelines and the Canada Food Guide, focusing on three main categories to support diverse cultural and dietary needs:
