National Volunteer Week 2026!

From April 19-25 we are joining Volunteer Canada and hundreds of other organizations taking part in National Volunteer week! Each year, Volunteer Canada leads the way in celebrating the incredible volunteer community across the country that supports the work of Halton Food for Thought and many other causes.

We know at Halton Food for Thought, we would not be able to reach over 96,000 students daily during the school year without the support of over 1,500 volunteers made up of students, school staff, parents and members of our community.

Each day during the school year, they show up to support the operations of our programs including menu planning, shopping and food preparation to ensure our students have access to the nutritious food they need to support their school day ahead.

During National Volunteer Week, we take the opportunity to highlight some of our volunteers across Halton to celebrate all the support we have received from them. Keep an eye on our social media during the week to see the volunteers we spotlight this year.

Do you know a volunteer making an impact connecting Halton students to nutritious food at school? Reach out to Halton Food for Thought to let us know. We are happy to share their stories and celebrate this incredible community fueling the future of our students!
