Halton Food for Thought (HFFT) is pleased to invite the Halton community to join us at the 16th Annual Breakfast Bash on Tuesday, May 12, at the Oakville Conference Centre. The event will be hosted for the second year in a row by Burlington resident, co-founder of Mabel’s Labels and long-time supporter of HFFT Julie Cole.
"I am looking forward to hosting the Breakfast Bash again! This is such a unique and fun fundraiser, getting together with the people who help to make these programs happen day in and day out during the school year and celebrating them,” Julie Cole stated while speaking about hosting the event. “The morning is a celebration of the impact of Student Nutrition Programs while raising funds to make sure students are nourished at school – what better way to start your day?”
The Breakfast Bash, HFFT’s annual fundraiser, helps raise the vital funding required to ensure our Student Nutrition Programs remain strong and sustainable across the region while celebrating the 2025/26 school year with our school board and school partners, volunteers, community partners and members of the community.
HFFT’s goal this year is to raise $100,000 to help ensure nearly 100,000 students at 155+ schools continue to have access to healthy food at school during a time where our programs are facing unprecedented costs due to food inflation and increased demand.
“We are looking forward to having Julie host for us again this year, as a mother and member of the Halton community – she recognizes the value of our programs and the direct impact they make,” shared Aliya Khawari, Halton Food for Thought Executive Director when asked about the event. “This year, our programs have been challenged to maintain the same offerings for students through rising food costs and increased demand. The Breakfast Bash plays a vital role in helping to ensure our programs remain strong for students every day of the school year.”
During the morning guests will enjoy a delicious breakfast marketplace featuring local Halton restaurants, including Joe Dog’s Gasbar Grill, Oakville Conference Centre, Martini House, Appleby College, Rust BistroBar, Pur & Simple Burlington North, Mary's Muffins and St. Ignatius of Loyola CSS who are bringing the blender bikes to make delicious smoothies!
The Breakfast Bash is a wonderful morning where over 400 supporters of Student Nutrition Programs gather to share stories of inspiration, celebrate milestones, and everyone joins together to celebrate all those who help make these programs possible during the school year.
The event is open to the public with the purchase of a ticket. Those interested in joining the Breakfast Bash can purchase on the Breakfast Bash website: www.haltonfoodforthought.com/breakfast-bash. Tickets are $65 each or or available in half or full table groups. The event will also have a Silent Auction including gift certificates, gift baskets and other great items which will go live April 14. Those unable to attend that want to help HFFT in reaching our goal can donate via the Breakfast Bash website.
The Breakfast Bash is made possible in part by the Sponsors who help us reach our goal and step up to support Student Nutrition Programs in the region. This year’s sponsors include CIBC Wood Gundy, Global Citrus Group Inc., miniGiants, Snax4Schools Inc. and UCC Group. Thank you to all our sponsors!
